I am going through a tough time right now and am looking for a place to go to just to relax. It should be somewhere where I can sit and do some soul searching. And cheap is good!

I don't think that there is a proper place where you can go to rejuvinate your soul, because your soul will be with you wherever you go. It's the old saying, you can change places, but not what's in your soul. You can rejuvinate your soul by doing different things where you are. Just do something totally different than what you are used to do. Invite a fun friend of yours.Leave home early , if you can, and come back very late at night, or the next day......you will not spend much money.
Whatever tough time you are going thru, just remember one thing: everything passes in life, and this will too.

Go within.
Take the cue from..."I felt the need for a pilgrimage so I sat with myself for two days and god came to me" - Kabir.
Alternately you might go to Amritpuri, South India; it is a serene place with lots of spiritual people. it could give you the opportunity to live amidst noble/spiritual people and at the same time the opportunity to do some social service; the food and accomodation are quite affordable and its vegan food. You can meet people from all over the world there and there is congregational singing and prayers for world peace. Good luck

If you like beaches and quiet and you don't mind the heat, I would recommend Sanibel Island, FL. There are great summer deals right now, and the beaches are lovely. Love those sunsets.
Also, St. Simons Island, GA.
