I would say Ross. His offensive stats are better than the other two, and his fielding is better than LaRue's.

I don't think any of those 3 are good enough to be catching on an everyday basis.
Ross has had the hot hitting had to this point, but a quick look at his career numbers coming into this season (.288 career OBP) is probably a pretty good indication that he'll be slowing down soon.
Valentin is defensively sound, but an atrocious hitter (career OBP of only .302), although he at least displays some pop. He's a good backup guy, but not starter material.
Larue is the most consistent career hitter of the bunch, although that's faint praise. Jason also has a problem with consistency in fielding, although he seems to have improved over the past year. And if you value clubhouse chemistry, then he's apparently a good guy to have around.
Ideally, I'd like to see the Reds acquire someone during this offseason to take over behind the plate. Even if you don't mind Larue, he's now in his early 30s and probably on the downside. Ross is the youngest at 29, but I just don't think he'll be able to establish himself. I'd like to see a veteran who can actually hit the ball and get on base, or a young up-and-comer. The Reds have been happy with below-average performance at this position for too long.

Ross is the best they have for now, but, until they get some pithcers, it really doesnt matter. If the Reds had a good pitching staff, I think they would be best in baseball.

the way Ross is hitting, I don't think you can make any other choice. Of course, Narron seems to disagree with me.

you gotta go with the guy hitting .311 (as opposed to .224 and .197).
