Well, that's the consensus. I've grassed on my brother many times, but for the right reasons. Child pornography is illegal, so it's best to tell his mother. If you're afraid that he'll hate you, that's not the case. You're trying to help him.

WAIT, WAIT, WAIT, WAIT, WAIT
Before you jump to conclusions that it's his porn...You know those thousands of spam emails you get everyday...Innocently, cuz' 13 year old boys are curious, he could have opened one of those 'look at this' emails and the folder could have automatically installed on his computer. Completely innocent, but stupid.
You can always look under the properties for the computer folder and determine when it was last viewed. If it hasn't been viewed for years and years, probably something innocent...
But perhaps you found the folder because you were worried and you were looking for for other reasons...
But you are right, you need to tell his mom...and he is lucky that you are his friend and willing to do what is right.

well, the porn was taken and posted by an adult. So I would think it is illegal. Just like a creepy man giving him a playboy magazine or other materials. Don't make too big of a deal because it might confuse and shock him. He might develop a psychological problem.
I just talked to my little brother and told him not to do it on line. I told him it was natural and to look at magazines instead. But I didn't buy him anything, I let it be a don't ask don't tell thing.

I think there's no law for viewing child pornography,.. or is it?
But your cousin definitely needs to be told that child pornography is illegal, and must be made to understand that children must not view any pornography things. And you can also prevent this by using those internet security tools in the markets.

I'm sorry, it's still illegal. He would probably only get a slap on the wrist but it's still illegal. More to the point, why are his parents allowing him to download this sort of thing. They need to limit his access to the computer. He's still a child.

Tell his parents immediately and let them handle it.
I always say an unsupervised young person on a computer is like letting them play Russian roulette. And child porn is illegal period and he is a victim of it who needs counseling. Don't delay

Porn of any kind is illeagal. YES!!tell his Mom or someone you trust to get him help. If caught with this he could be arrested, especially with child porn. It could ruin his life before he gets started with his future. Do this as quickly as possible. God bless you and your cousin.
