i think the "semi above average Joe or Jane " would be a great choice. we've seen what happens when we get people in that are "qualified" it's time for somebody that actually works for their money to decide how it is spent.
aside from standard govt. employee's, i wonder how much money is spent on Americans, as apposed to foreign nations aid.

Too early to say for sure, but I like what I've seen out of Senator Sam Brownback (R-KS). Senator Bill Frist (R-TN) also wouldn't be bad, although I disagree with him on embryonic stem cell research.
