scientifically it would be the egg, because what made the egg still technically wasn't a chicken, so with one more mutation that egg would become a chicken. think about it the original t-rex had feathers and is part of the ancestral line of chickens.

According to Aristotle, actuality takes precedence (comes first) over potentiality. Eggs become chickens, chickens do not become eggs (they lay them, they don't become them). Therefore eggs are chickens in potentiality, chickens are chickens in actuality. Therefore chickens come first.

According to the bible, the chicken came first. When the world was created animals inhabited it in adult form and instincts took it from there allowing them to go forth and multiply.
