the glass ball with a metal rod inside that seems to emit lightnings and when touched the lightnings seems to concentrate on the part on which your hand touches. it also creates static energy when you places your hair near it. It is usually found on science fair or in science museums.Please help.It's for my child's project. Thnx

Okay, the first one is a plasma generator. Is that what you are looking for?

Then, the second link is to a "kit" that does sparks, static electric, etc. Sounds cool and might be what you're looking for for your kid's project. Good luck!

I think the ball you're referring to is actually metal, and the device is a Van deGraaf generator.

It is called a Plasma Ball, I believe. That may just be a brand name, but that is what mine is called that I have at my school.
