I'm with the new monitor idea. If you're using an old CRT monitor, then it's time for a new LCD.

Is it a LCD screen or Cathode ray tube? If it is LCD you could try changing the resolution to the monitor's 'native' resolution. that should fix a LCD screen, if you have a blurry CRT then the only option may be to replace it. Good luck!

The absolutely best way is to download, install and run clear type available free from microsoft as an XP power tool. The nokia monitor test is ok, but not as good and fast.

Right click your desktop-----> go to Properties ----> go to settings----.> check to see the correct resolution is set and monitor. Apply and save the correct savings.Reboot your system.
If that doesn't work you will need to check inside the computer to make sure your video card has not become slightly unsecure. Reseat the video card and make sure it is seated securely.
