No, just a headbutt is not enough.
He should have stomped him too like he did to that Saudi guy.
If hes going out...well.
But too bad France lost.

Clearly not. France lost the World Cup! As an athlete myself, I have participated in many matches/games in which somebody said something to try and get me upset. It's part of the game. In fact, Materazzi was doing what he should have been doing, trying to distract Zidane from concentrating on the actual match. Were his comments in poor taste, yes. Who cares? Actions speak much louder than words and in the case actions get you kicked out of the World Cup while words win it.

Sure, if you call his team a victory on the world stage. This guy is getting paid to play a GAME - Soccer is a GAME!!!! Like it or not this guy is probably a roll model for a lot of kids that are playing the same game in your neighborhood. Zidane needs to get himself in check before he does something really stupid - like headbutting a bus.

R u guyz mad or wat...Of course yes...U see...its all materazzis fault. He should not tease him just becoz he is a muslim.Wats the big deal..If I were Zidane,i will act like that too or maybe more than head butt.
But its ZZs fault too.He should not act like that. But what can we do...Its his natural atitude.So...the main fault is matterazzis.
Whatever it is just look at Ballack. He's da best.No case...No head butt...No red card.Dont u think hes da best...

No, because by doing what he did he shows his true colors.. and he's violent. As for the first time he headbutted someone, he didn't have to do that either. But, if that's what the guy does.. it's his trademark. Can't do nothing about it. Reacting like that, isn't the way you handle things. Like, someone says something to you, then what.. you have to headbutt them??

of course it was the right thing for him to headbutt Materazzi, that wanna be guy deserved it. and Italy didn't win because of their skills...that's bs...they CAN'T play soccer....cause all they do it play dirty....and they also like to 'fall' down...and stuff like that.

Absolutely NOT!!!! It was wrong and nothing can justify what he did, name-calling is NOT an excuse for what Zidane did!!!!

on the field he was absolutely wrong, sports require a lot of discipline, if materrazi was wrong , zidanne could have raised the issue later on but a player of his repute and stature should not have done that there.
