Few years back it was a tie Pele and Maradona, but over the years Maradona tarnish his greatness by admitting they put something in water for the Brazilian players in 1990 and that he did score that famous "Hand of God" goal in 86. And aside from all that Maradona's highly publize drug addiction doesn't help either.
In contrast Pele just keeps being Pele, so I have to give it to Pele although Maradona still has the greatest world cup goal of all time: Mexico 86-Argentina vs. England
So who is better Diego Maradona or Pele?

Pele has proved his ability, skills, technique and as a goal machine. Maradona unquestionably had similar attributes however he did not possess the consistent goal threat as the greatest PELE!!!

I'm going to be controversial here looking at the other answers, i think Maradona is the greatest player of all time. And im English believe it or not, i still don't forgive him for the hand of god incident but OMG could he play football.
