Aids is a result of violating God's moral standards of human relationships. Anytime human beings cross a moral boundary set by God, there are going to be consequences. Galatians 5:6,7 is explicit, "be not deceived, God is not mocked, whatsoever a man sows that shall he also reap." A more colloquial version is, "what goes around, comes around." People forget this is a cause and effect universe, for every action, there is an opposite and equal reaction. Aids is indeed a disease, but is was brought on by immoral behavior. I have found it amusing how many Science Fiction movies produced about the end of human life are based on human miscalculations. For example, Soylent Green, The Omega Man, and my favorite, the 1959 version of "On the Beach" This is a very sobering movie about a post nuclear war world, where in the end everybody perishes. A desolate and unpopulated world.

Notwithstanding the absolute absurdity of this question...

What about all the people who had the nerve to get sick and turn to doctors for help only to receive tainted transfusions?

What about all the babies and children who are molested and contract it? What about all the men, women, boys, girls who are forced into prostitution because they had the misfortune of being orphaned because everyone complains about abortion with adoption as the "right" alternative, yet all those kids are on their own at 18 usually with nowhere to go. Do they deserve even more punishment by contracting a deadly disease?

What about all the medical staff who are trying to save lives and get stabbed accidentally?

Maybe when you get an opportunity you can go volunteer on a hotline or in a shelter or a Hospice program and start attaching some faces and names with the disease you seem to think is a punishment for "bad" people. Maybe pick up the Bible of whatever religion you claim to believe in and figure out where any God/god gives you the right to judge other people that way. Finally, pray to whomever you believe in and ask that you NEVER have to face a tragedy, of any type, in your life; hope that one day your world could come crashing down and the only compassion you receive is "you deserved this as a punishment from God."

AIDS didn't start with homosexuals, if that is the punishment you are referring to. So, I don't think God would punish millions of innocent women and children too. Just F-ing stop with the whole AIDS is punishment from God crap!!!

why aids, why not cancer? or diabetes? or heart attack?stroke? all of these things are a punishment for not taking care of our bodies but not from God from genetics. humans are very strong stock, any other species that does what we do to our bodies would've become extinct centuries ago. by the way all the above mentioned afflictions have only been around for less than 100 years, since we learned to refine flour and sugar.

That is not an actual question. What is this punishment-business. Is your God a punisher? Is that what you think? I thought you'd want a God making lives easier on you?

Jerry Falwell will tell you it's Gods punishment for being a fag but he was caught giving head to a Philippino boy so I wonder how he will be punished?

ooooooo, that's is soo deep! i think its both, its a punishment for those irresponsible people who do not use protection and still "do it" even when they know one of them has the disease, thus making them ill, and their unborn child who WILL get the disease.

so its a disease
and a punishment for some
