I like it. I just hope that the show promoters aren't taking it right back, and into their own pockets.
The idea is to get others to do the same thing. Again, I hope that the rock stars are supporting quality charities that have the right connection to get money where it does some good, and not into some promoter's pocket. I would hate to think that Bono, Sting, Geldof and others are just big suckers, or liars.

Why? I know they give money and time, but how much is irrelevant. It is same question as asking how much does John Smith down the street who has a bit of money give to charity. It seems odd that people bash celebrities when they try to raise money for causes, by lending thier voices and idenity to a cause. If you don't want to donate then don't, if you do then do. It's simple. But other people's donations really isn't much of your concern. I'm not trying to be rude, but they are trying to do good things, either with money or donating time and idenity. We bash celeb's when they do bad things, but don't give them credit for good work. And I don't hold these people to high esteem solely for their celebrity, but they are just tring to make the world a little better. So I think we can cut them a little slack, and expect the same respect that we would give to any one else that has good deal of money.

It doesn't matter. It is their money. The fact that they support all these charities is wonderful. They really don't have to do any good with their time or money.
What % of YOUR time and money do you use to support those in need? Or are you just a liberal hypocrite?
(I didn't see princess Di on your list? The crown has tons of money and didn't give it all away to support her causes)

I reckon a lot. I have heard a certain celebraty has given an extorionate amount of money to charities over the years.

I bet if they all had a million quid they'd give about 10 grand, I could be wrong but I think they only give what they can throw away. Correct me if I'm wrong though.
