As strange as it sounds, I'd rather have a brilliant career, so that my family can enjoy whatever they want in life. I guess I'd sacrifice my own happiness if it provided the same for the ones I love.

I would rather have a brilliant career because with that you can also achieve the happy personal life by doing what career you love the most.

It depends on what makes you happy. For some, a brilliant career is the utmost in happiness.
In my opinion there is no substitute for happiness. When and if you find it...never let it go. Life is very short. Before you know it you will be a senior (if you live that long) and you will wonder where did the time go. Many, many people pass on having had very little happiness in their lives.
Look at the poor desolate children in other countries...even in our own. What do you think their answer would be?

With a brilliant career comes a crap load of hours, I don't want to miss a minute of my 2 babies lives and my husband means more to me than all the money in the world I don`t think I would have the strength to balance a high profile career and my family life so its at home and happy all the way...

I would have to take a happy personal life not because I think that having a great career is not important in life but because I believe that a all work and no play makes people truly unhappy. If I had a great career and still went home to a empty home I would live to work because my personal life would be so sad. But I guess its all a matter of opinion.

Happy personal life. Just look around Hollywood and at athletes and even businessmen like the Enron guys.
I'd rather be happy than "brilliant" - it's probably not all it's cracked up to be and leaves you feeling empty. And besides after the brilliance fades, what are you left with if you don't have a happy personal life?

I'll take a happy personal life anyday, over a brilliant career! I don't think that money and/or power, bring true fullfillment or happiness, at least not for me. Having a happy and contented personal life is truly what it's all about. :)

Definitely a happy personal life. A brilliant career is easy. Finding that one certain person ---not so easy.

A happy personal life is dependent on career satisfaction. The chloice is not between career and happiness. Most unhappy people will tell you that they hate their work. Most people who love their work will tell you that they are happy or at least satisfied in their lives. Some people are just unhappy no matter what.
