I would hate my job as a senator if I had to work my as.s off passing bills all day long that I really think will help the country and humanity knowing the president is just going to rip it up when it reaches his desk. The bill would allow federal money to support stem research using embryos that would have OTHERWISE BEEN DISCARDED BY FERTILITY CLINICS. If the president thinks it's murder to use the embryos to SAVE LIVES, why the ***** is he going to let them get thrown out? That's the ******** murder right there.

Because I hate censorship. I think it's bullsh.it. I can't even write the word bullsh.it without putting a period in it because someone thinks it's a bad thing to say, but to me it's just a natural part of my vocabulary. If I hate the president so much I could seriously strangle him, why can't I say that? It's ridiculous.

See, this right here is what is truly wrong with the U.S.A.
Somehow, we have brainwashed our children into thinking that only the Federal Government can do anything, and if they don't do it, it doesn't get done. If you can get past your irrational hatred for a second, I'll offer you a little touch of reality. Most of what happens in America happens in spite of the government, not because of if. If the research is not funded by our tax dollars, it's no big deal. It will be funded by universities, venture capitalists, and private companies. It's called captialism, if there is a demand for it, somebody will put the money up for it with the expectation that eventually they'll be able to sell the results and make their money back. This has been a free introduction to reality, I hope you stick around for a while.

For the first time in almost 6 years, Bush is going to veto something, and it is something that a majority of Americans want. I though his job was to work for the American people. I guess I was wrong.

Hundreds, if not thousands, are going to suffer and die because of his decision. More blood on his hands.

As for private donations, like turboweegie mentioned, I do donate to the ALSA and Michael J Fox Foundation. The more people (like universities, the NIH, etc.) that are working on this, the quicker cures will be found. Do these people oppose invitro fertilization, too? That is where these clumps of cells will come from. Why throw them in the trash, like they do now, when they could hold the key to easing the suffering of people like my father, who died from ALS 4 years ago.

It's short-sighted, opportunistic, and misinformed to equate this with abortion, like Bush and Company are doing.

Call or email your Senators and Congressmen. The only way to get this to pass is to overturn the Presidents threatened veto. Why is Bush more concerned about frozen 8 day old embryos than living (or dying), breathing, tax-paying Americans?

Because the research involves the destruction of a potential human life. The government has no right to forcibly take money out of anybody's pocket to support the destruction of human life. There are still many people who care enough about human life that they do not support the deliberate destruction of human embryos regardless of the potential medical benefits. The price is too great.

If there are so many people for this research, why not take money out of your own pocket to support it? You can do this without taking money from people who do not support such things. Go for it.

Murder is too strong a word, and I suggest you withdraw your question, as it is illegal to threaten the president.

However - politics and playing hero to the special interest groups that tip his vote totals up, or starting campaigns against groups that vote against him, (easy to target lawyers, eh?) is all this president does.
The slice-em dice-em Presidency. An electorate fractured to bits.

Well this post will get deleted, you can't say things like that. Why don't you delete your own question and then repost it without threatening the life of our President.
