Yes, as a matter of fact, Microsoft Word should ask you if you want to recover your document the next time you launch it.
If not, the Word help files will explain how to open up the temp file it created.

It is possible to recover. Depending on your MS Word settings you may have "AutoSave" enabled. When this occurs a temp file is saved every few minutes fro recovery purposes. Usually if you have an autosave file in existance when you start MS Word, it will prompt you if you wish to recover. Otherwise you can check with MS Help or online to attempt a manual recovery.

However - if you DON'T have autosave enabled, there wouldn't be anything to recover.

Good luck.

NO! When you type a word document you are typing into RAM, the document is not written to your hard drive until you save it. When you closed without saving you lost all data, and it can not be retrived.
