The future of the universe is anyone's guess. As for Mars and beyond, we'll never know if we don't get the space program going faster.

colonies in space? probably scientists for eons to come will be it, maybe their families.

Life on Mars? May someday find a form of life form, most likely not however consdering the billions of years of decay since it was habitable, if it ever was.

future of the universe? depends on whose theories you go by: somewhere, a potiential habitable planet is being formed on the edge of the universe perhaps. or its expand then collapse.

According to the holy book of islam which is called quran,there are many more planets in which life evist and never any scientist or human will be able to discover them
There is a planet very very far away from earth where such people live which are made of fire.
