I think WWE was best from 1996-2002. After that with the brands splitting and people like john cena and batista getting on top, really brought wwe downhill alot.

No, WWE was the best during the Mania era. It still had the aire of legitmate sport but had plent of zany charachters and storylines. This dicotomy, of percieved reality and bombastic spectacle made for great viewing. C'mon Hulk Hogan at his peak? Machomadness in full gear? For me Wrestlemania 5 and the "Megapowers Collide" was the best it will ever get in WWE history.

i'd say mid to late 90's was WWE's best time, because they had big competition in the form of WCW, which forced them to be more creative.
