People think because you want to be simple sometimes, be silly that you aren't intelligent. What do you say to those people?

Thank you, you are my type of people. I am intelligent as are you but hey we need to laugh, right.

I believe that truly intelligent people can't take themselves too seriously. They know that life is short and should be fun. My son is very gifted (and very silly too). He looks at the world in a kind of kooky, upside down way that is just pure fun. I am 48 and think of myself as pretty darn intelligent too. I read alot, got good grades without trying much, graduated from college, taught school for 10 years and can basically talk to anyone about anything, and my father always says to me(jokingly), "When are you going to grow up?" because I'm still just as silly and fun as ever. I tell him if I haven't "grown up" yet, I doubt that there's much chance of it happening now. At least, I certainly hope not! Being serious and being intelligent have nothing whatsoever to do with each other. Keep on laughing, honey!

I beg to differ with you!! My son, my best friend and quite a few people I know are very very intelligent people. What is great though is the fact that, being as intelligent as they are, when they do get "goofy" --- they can also be extremely witty -- something I wish I was good at. I have my moments but these people who I rank higher than myself have put me in stitches because of their intelligent humor. DON'T EVER LOSE YOUR SENSE OF HUMOR. PEOPLE ENJOY IT MORE THAN THE OTHER.

This is a very good question. Sometimes (most of the times), silent or amusing people are labeled as 'not-so-smart' without even knowing those people. Happens all the time. There isn't much to tell to those people, you should just give them the opportunity to know you better and see the pearl inside the shell.

You stick up your finger and yell lots of rude words.

Seriously, life isn't always serious. You can be intelligent, and silly too. <3

I generally let people think what they want. In return I'd look at people like that as selfish prudes who don't know how to have a good time.

I'd tell them very unintelligently to get rid of the stick in their ***.

I am a Chemical Engineer but enjoy a good belly laugh.
Being serious all of the time is no way to live your life.

My response to these people is short and sweet: "Life is too short not to have fun." And then I simply go about being me, they will either accept it or walk away. Either way, I'm having a great life.

i dont think one has to proclaim that he is intelligent, as intelligence speaks itself. a person who boasts to be very intelligent, is like empty vessels that make more noise. simplicity depicts volumes, as there is more depth in that.
