There are categories of ants that have wings. there is even Flying Ant Day, an casual term for an afternoon on which queen ants emerge from the nest to start their nuptial flight. She's only finding for her mate!

Flying ants are the sexually active members of any ant colony, they are the sme type of ant and are both male and female, they all emerge on the same day from all the colonies in the area, they mate, the males die and the females land and create new colonies, becoming queens.

flying ants are just ordinary male ants. the only difference is that they can fly and bite at a younger age than the females, but the females won't ever fly
