I agree with the idea that there are no ugly babies...however, on the offbeat chance this is a serious question I'll give you a serious answer...I would give the baby a name to enhance its self-esteem. Appearance, while important, is not everything...so, you can focus on other aspects: If it's a girl, names like "Hope," "Faith" or "Melody" can be positive names. If one is a Christian, then biblical names can work (the same could be true for other faith paths, including nature-based).

For guys, I'd avoid weak sounding names...If you name an ugly baby "Peter," well, we know their life isn't going to be easy. Richard is often seen as a strong name. There are others.

Ultimately, when I meet parents who have disabled children (I have spina bifida and some could say "look" ugly or deformed) I often tell them that it's more about how you raise the child. If a child is raised empowered and encouraged, then they will survive the inevitable taunts that come with growing up different from others. I know I've done well, am fairly successful and have always dated attractive women despite being less than attractive.

when my son was born, we could call him nothing but " toad "......( lovingly, of course ! )

he was an ugly baby...but grew into a very handsome man ( 26 )
