I made a mistake once myself. I finally told my hubby and he responded very strangely. It all worked out in the end and now we are happy. It had an unusual effect on us. I can give you details but not on here. I am Angela, enyawe2000@yahoo.com. Ask me.

1) If she informs and if her partner doesn't care she will fling again.
2) It is better not to tell and live with the guilt and be faithful to him ever after.
3) She did not care to think before the fling now why she wants to feel bad tell her to forget it as a bad dream.

Personally I would NEVER find myself in this position because I have not nor will ever cheat on my mate. As for your friend, if the guilt is getting to her and she feels the only way she can relieve the guilt is to tell...then she should confess..WITH the understanding that her relationship may never be the same again, if it survives at all. I wish her luck.

Why does she want to confess? so that she can share the guilt with her partner and make him feel bad too? If she really loves her partner, she's got to sort herself, get some therapy and counselling to get over the guilt. Telling her partner won't help.

No way. She'd be mad to 'fess up after so long.
Indescresions like that have an expiry date, you know? After 3 months, if no-one found out, they cease to count. Honest, it says so in the rules. Official, like.

if it was me, knowing that im lying to him constantly would make me feel consumed by guilt. if she wants him to honest with her she should give him the same respect, i'd feel like my relationship was a lie. mind you everyone else who ive spoken to about similar things believe you shouldnt tell them if it will upset you from the outcome you get but personally i reckon she should be honest with him

she should stop whipping herself about it.
the lesson has been learned.
let it stay in the past where it belongs.
look to the future.
don't tell him.
there's nothing to be gained from trashing the marriage.

Don't tell him...all trust will vanish, look on your guilt as a punishment or detterent. If you tell him I think no matter what he says he will never forget it
