Pregnant or not?

Question

I posted yesterday about whether something was an evaporation line or not. I've looked again at the test and the line is as wide and has a slight pink colour to it. Someone mentioned that an evaporation line is usually much thinner. Is this right?

Anyway I've done 2 more tests this morning. The one that was same as the one with the evaporation line looked to have a definate faint line which then disappeared after a minute and now theres no trace! The other one detects at 10 units and I can definately see a very very very faint grey line in the test window but its soooooo faint.

What do you make of all this???

I think you need to wait a couple more weeks to be sure.
Have you tried the early decection test - I think its called First Response? You can get it from Boots.
Also try and do it first thing in the morning, and dont drink too much before doing it as it waters down your urnie.

Hi, i had the same problem as you with my last pregnancy. I did the test and i had pink line but by the time i came down stairs to show my husband the line had gone. I had a twin pack of tests and immediately did another one, and although the line didn't completely disappear it was certainly very faint. So i had to wait an agonising 3 days to re-do the test and the line was much darker and definitely positive! You maybe testing too early or not have enough chemicals yet for it to definitely detect a pregnancy.

You probably are pregnant. A "store bought test" is as sensitive as the one's your doctors use. In fact, if you go to the dr and say you are pregnant they won't even test you as home pregnancy tests are so sensitive now.

It is possible to get a false negative but virtually unheard of to get a false positive. ANY line in the positive window is a positive result, but don't look at it after 10 minutes. It's what it shows at 3 minutes that counts.

If you are still unsure, the pregnancy hormone doubles every 24hours. You may only be getting a faint line because your hormones are low. Wait 24 hours and do another one. If you still need reassurance, go to your gp and get them to test you with a blood test. If you think you are pregnant go to the gp and make your antenatal appointments.

it looks like you probably are pregnant, but maybe the horomone leve hasn't built up enough inside you yet to strongly show up on the test. You have two choices:

1. go to your doctor and get a blood test

2. wait a few weeks and retest- that would give the pregnancy horomone time to build up in your sysytem - I have also heard taking the test with the first pee of the day helps

If you choose to wait, and you haven't already, start taking a pernatal vitamin - you can get these over the counter and it will help to get you important vitamins and minerals for the baby. It won't hurt you if you are not pregnant. Also, be sure you are taking folic acid - that is important in preventing birth defects. Good luck!!

To make sure go to the doctor or if you dont have one, go to the health department in ur area. Tell them your situation and they will give you a blood tests which is more reliable and you dont have to wait til first thing in the morning.
