Pride & Prejudice The Jane Austen novel has been adapted on film about 5 or 6 times
My favorite version was the A & E mini-series with Colin Firth
The film Bridget Jones Diary , also with Colin Firth was actually taken from Pride & Prejudice
I've seen 2 different versions in black & white .. one with Laurence Olivier
There was a BBC mini series
Not to mention the 2005 remake with Keira Knightly
Sense and Sensibility also a Jane Austen novel is another great romantic film as adapted by Emma Thompson

"And Then There Was One" - it is sooo sad, romantic, I cried for hours afterwards. It is so moving.
Its about ten years since this film was released and just recently re-shown on Hallmark cable; its an intense, well written drama with excellent performances from, in particular, the main actors. A happy relatively young couple with a new born baby are then faced with their own death in distressing circumstances. It surely must be the most difficult of arts for any actor or actress to play such a scenario but its done here with conviction, skill and some humor. I found this movie compelling throughout and that is thanks to the way the whole picture was made and presented. Of course it ain't a comedy, and no movie, no matter how good, can truly portray the full depths of human tragedy but can reflect some snippits of it.
Thats just 1 of many reviews... Go to:

The ones that make me cry are Serendipity, Hope Floats, Titantic, Terms of Endearment, oh sweetie I could go on and on. I always keep ones that make me cry handy just in case I need a good cry and I cant do it on my own. So I pop one of those movies in and watch it and then the water works start. LOL
Blessings to you,
Kerri

The Thomas Crowne Affair because it is sexy without being too obscene, romantic without being overly mushy, and the characters are fairly strong. Granted, I'm not a huge Pierce Brosnan fan, but he plays the character with a suave "Mr. Big"esque charm.
