Good Question. I think if this happened, it would certainly sort the men out from the boys. Society is mollycoddled far too much these days. Medicines for every sniffle and every ache, Housing and money provided for those not willing to go out and work for it, and menial punishment for the ones that prefer to go out and steal what they want, instead of earning it. In the days of the cave people, they had to get on with life to survive, irrespective of how ill they were. If they did not work as part of the tribe, they were cast out of the community, and left to fend for themselves. If they turned to stealing from fellow tribes people, or, another tribe, they met a vicious and brutal death (No human rights issues here), They were dealt with on the spot. And just to point out how far and how bad mollycoddling has got these days, take childbirth as an example. We can now choose what gender our child will be, we can decide to keep or abort the child before it is born, if it appears to be deformed in any way, there is gas and air, and epidurals to ease the pain of childbirth, and then the good old midwifes who tell us what is good and bad for our offspring. In the cave peoples era, the mother to be would just go into the bushes and give birth (No doctors or nurses) and if they were fit and healthy they would survive. And then the mother was left to raise her child as best she could, breast milk, animal meat, and animal bones to suck when teething. If you tried to raise a child like that these days, the child would be taken away from you, and you would probably be facing charges of child abuse. This really does make you stop and think of how the heck did the human race survive, before todays comforts, luxury's and mollycoddling.

A lot of us would die if the technology went away. There were a lot less people on earth to feed back when people were hunting animals to exist.
I have to disagree that that would be a good thing so that we could "all be equal". Yeah... equally miserable. Read history. The loss of medical care, for one thing ... people used to suffer from an endless list of diseases. Think living in a sod hut or TP is cool? Try it for a year.
I don't imagine that all the buildings would go away, so there'd be plenty of places to live besides caves. Our ancestors already survived harder times, so our genes should be enough to handle a world without toilet paper again.
You might enjoy watching films like "Mad Max" and "A Boy and His Dog" and "Postman" ... there are lots of "after the big one" films.

I think a large portion of us would die off pretty suddenly (within the first 1-2 years). I am thinking that obesity and the associated psychological handicaps thereof will be the number one killer. Some will fight and struggle and end up "fit" to survive ...but a lot will probably be too far along to save themselves.

I would survive! Hell I once lived on Alcatraz Island for a couple of weeks with some Indian friends and I also lived in a cave once! I also make my own clothes, candles, soap, cosmetics, can turn even the filthiest water into pure drinking water and I can also make fire!!!!!!!! ( It's the killing of animals I would have trouble with)!

There's nothing more I'd like to see than the collapse of technology...It would make all people equal...Probably half the population because the filthy rich couldn't survive...I was so gutted when nothing happened with that so-called "millennium bug"...I know that myself & family would be ok....

I think we could. Once we got out of the mindset of modern living. I think that will be when the skills of artists, craftspeople and healers will kick in.

It would probably do us all a favour to go without. Materialism, consumerism and greed today are just awful. I think we'd be fine.

No, I think people would learn how to adjust. They would have to. If the people in the days of old were able to do it, then so can we.
