No system is perfect.. but can you imagine what it would be like with out police? There are to many people that don't care on bit about their neighbors. Or how anyone thinks about them.. Having police around sort of makes those sort of people think twice about messing with you... If conscience isn't enough, maybe fear of being caught & punished is.

Yes, could you just imagine the world if there was no police? Although it does goto some police officers head when they get in uniform! Although you cannot judge all the police by one! Yes, they protect and serve! DUHH

Without the presence of the local police, anarchy would reign!
The average police officer is a hard working, underpaid, highly trained and skilled servant of the public. They put up with more garbage from the public they serve than you can imagine, yet remain loyal to their chosen profession.
I can't imagine life in this decadent "me" society without them and I thank God for them!

As far as I know they are doing a difficult and thankless job. They are people too, some are bad and some are good. I have never ever had any sort of problem with the police.

The police never hurt me and I never needed any saving but some of my relatives are policemen so I do think that they're doing as good a job as possible.

I like the police. There was a time that I didn't, but that's only because I was doing things that they could arrest me for.

For the most part yes. They put their lives on the line everyday never knowing what will happen. I also believe that there are some that are corrupt and do some pretty unjust things and get away with it.

I think they could do a better job. They seems possessed with some of the more petty law violations and do not do enough patrols to prevent more serious crime like burglaries.

Yes, they are a very important and neccessary part of our society. It's too bad that more people don't respect them, or the job they do.
