oh my goodness some people who have answered this question are plain idiots or just fools. he safest way to travel is by Airplane. The cance of you dieing in a plane crash are very low now and the satistics show that you are more likely to get kicked to death by a donkey than die in a plane vrash, just think about all the airplanes travellig troughout the skies right now that are flying safely? if you think about it, its true, air travel is the safest way to travel.

Safest way to travel is to fly and the safest aircraft was Concorde, No other aircraft flew for as long as Concorde did with that kind of safety record,
If all aircraft were grounded when one of any make crashed we would never fly anywhere.

It depends how you look at the statistics. If you look per million miles travelled, then it's air by quite some way. Having said that, if you change your metric to look by country for example, then your answer may change!
