Do not get an Iguana if you think it's easy to take care of, like one person answered. They are not easy. In fact any animal takes a lot of care and nuture and knowledge of the species. Also make sure you have a large enough tank for when the animal is full grown (which a tank is not sutable for an adult Iguana at all, a cage is more sufficent). Definitely do research on any animal before you get one. Many animals die and are given away because people do not know what they are getting into. Just because you have a tank doesn't mean you have to fill it, just to have something.

Actually, it depends on what size tank your talking about, and do you want a pet to hold, or just to look at? If its a 10 gallon, little tree frogs are adorable to have because their little and you can put multiple ones together,, and you can build them a little terranium to live in. My daughter had one in her room and she loves them. We feed them small crickets, so its not expensive to keep up. Their funny to watch when you first put the crickets in because they jump all over the place chasing them. Most pet stores , if you ask, have some for adoption that you can get for free., WE also have 2 teddy bear hamsters, but I wouldn;t put hamsters in a tank, they need regular hamster cages unless you get a "kit" that fits inside, but I wouldn't because their harder to clean, because the glass is so heavy. There are different types of small geckos that you can get that are adorable. They range in price from like $6 to $60 . My best answer for you would be to stop by a big pet store(like petsmart or petco) and browse through and see what catches your eye., or look on their webpages and maybe get a idea. Go over to the reptile section first. But stick with something that doesn;t get large like a iguana, you don't want one of them unless you know about them. Trust me!! About 9 years ago, I had one that got to about 3 feet long! Now I have a blue tongue skink lizard that is awesome!, BUT hes about 15" long already. Aneoles are cute little lizards too and they don't grow. There only a few inches long. Good luck!!

Watch out salamanders can be poisonous, if you have a cut on your hand !!!

Snakes are fun, king snakes and gopher snakes are pretty and if you ever have a Infant around they won't try to eat them, like a large boa might.

lizard are the best, in my opinion. I want a bearded dragon, they are usually very docile and friendly to hold. And, if you don't mind paying extra, come in a beautiful variety of colors, some very bright.

How about an Iguna i have one! they are really cute and fun to take care of. Just make sure you get the iguana when it is young so you can tame it. I like it cos it's an animal you can handle and it is easy to take care of.
