have planted some potatoes in my garden,interesting plants have poped up..i was just wondering when 2 harvest?

I'd need a picture to make sure your "interesteing plants" are potatoes-- My grandpa grows potatoes in his garden....

If the sprouts are just barely up (less than 3"), hill up the dirt over them- yes, cover the sprouts with dirt. Do that once or twice. When the leaves turn a dark green, as opposed to lighter green, start watering.

You should be able to harvest in about 6-8 weeks- after they bloom. Take a regular shovel and put it in the ground 8-10" from the main stem of the plant. Lift the plant out with the shovel, wash the tubers and enjoy!

You can actually harvest your potatoes several times during the year, getting a crop of "new potatoes" in the beginning, then more later on.

Sometimes they don't bloom. You can start harvesting when the plants are a couple of feet high. You can feel around gently and if they are not big enough for you, you can just cover them back up and wait a while longer. They taste good even when they're golf ball size.
