If Darth Vader was so inhibited by his suit, why couldn't Obi-Wan attack him while he was young instead of waiting till he was on the Death Star with Luke?

He could not kill vader because they had been such good friends if he was going to he would have done it at the end of episode 3. Also he and yoda were the last of the jedi it was more important to protect luke so he could continue the jedi then to risk loosing the last of the jedi trying to kill vader.

At the end of Episode 3, Darth Vader had become very powerful as a general for the dark side, and the jedis were all but annihilated. Obi Wan had no means of attacking Darth Vader.

It would be foolish of him to attack Darth Vader.
1) he was way to strong/powerfull
2) there wasn't any backup jedi anymore
3) he's just waiting till Darth Vader's son and dochter are strong enough. He lived very close to the son.

Obi-Wan's job was to make sure Luke was protected and to learn how to use the force to communicate back and forth with Jedi who had died (Qui-Gon).
