If u know that a movie is fake or not based on a true story do u still watch it? some people watch TV shows that they know are fake but follow them anyway. it's the same way with the wwe. if u watch some thing entertaining than some times u start to like it and can't stop watching it.

More and more? WWE's audience has been shrinking for years. It peaked back when Stone Cold and The Rock were feuding back in the early 2000s and late 1990s. Ever since then it's just been recycled garbage from years past.
The thrill is not in believing it's real, it's in watching the performers pull off some of the most amazing stunts without killing themselves. Also, there are stories to follow between the matches. Let me pose a counter-question to you: Why do so many Americans watch CSI when they know it's all staged by actors and writers? It's because it's enjoyable to watch and suspend realism for a short time.

Professional wrestling is popular for many reasons. For me, I enjoy watching wrestling because I know that although it's fake, it takes a tremendous amount of expertise for the wrestler's to put on a good show. They have to be in condition, they must perfect the skill of acting, they must be well practiced in their techniques. I can see the effort and execution of the violent ballet.
On another level the stories told on wrestling shows are hilarious, they involve simple, visceral motivations like the desire for revenge, a quest for glory, or even to attract a mate. It's never hard to tell what's at stake for a wrestler, and it is thus easy to empathize with or despise a character as he pursues his goal. It hearkens back to many ancient theatrical practices involving violent morality plays.
The companies that run wrestling shows do a lot to make sure the crowd is entertained. They have hot chicks, fireworks, loud music, and screaming, sarcastic announcers. It is certainly a vulgar spectacle, and in a world that is often less than spectacular, a lot of people, myself included, enjoy turning our brains off and enjoying a little vulgarity.

Like some say, it's a soap opera with a-kicking in it. What's the difference between the fakeness in wrestling and that of many shows and movies today, since we watch either and know they are fake.

Well let me answer your question with another question. If people know movies are fake and that theatrical plays are fake, then why do people follow it? Because its entertaining. Its a form of physical art. People love it, as do I. Alot of people hate it, but then again, alot of people love it. The fact is, professional wrestling is a form of phsyical theatre that people love to watch.

its like a soap opera that all about action and sports. i know wrestlign is fake and all but these guys train really really hard to entertain us! if they are just a split second off while doing their moves, it can cause anything from just them looking stupid to serious injury! it's all about entertainment! i go everyweek and watch the guys that are trying to get signed on with WWE and they are awesome! they are still learning, but its alot of fun!

It is entertainment. Did you see Pirates of the Caribbean 2? Did you know that it was fake? Do you think any one who saw it thought it was real? Did they enjoy it anyway?
