However, even though its the No. 1 company in India, outlets are still not keeping the new launches easily and also some their brands are not doing so well.. how do I increase the market share of these brands and make new brands available... i am going crazy.

Well....get them drunk...just kidding...if your company is Numero 1 in India must have a modest marketing budget.

Select the area where brand x is not successful and do a survey Why? and why the consumers prefer the competition.

once this is define go for the jugular and promote your brand like crazy, your marketing strategy must be flexible and articulated.

Signage is important, Internet banners promoting brand x is also as relevant, radio and newspaper, do an aggressive campaign either to revive, reinforce or introduce a brand

Tell your customers that if they promote your brand you will give them an extra box of your product,...or something like that for large accounts

Now if you do not have a budget for advertising, man power is the option.

Good luck

I'm just a marketing student so i don't have any real experience, but I'll give it a shot.

try repackaging the product that is not doing so good and creating a limited time bundle package with the ones that are doing better that way you can at least get people to try your product. if you want more information to selling to other cultures check out www.executiveplanet.com, it could be a simple problem of not following the same business practices of the country your selling to.
