Who is the best of our generation? Please list someone who is alive and well folowing in the footsteps of the men who long since have died but created the standards that we all know and love.

I'm talking about songs like Sinatra music, as well as stuff from Ray Charles or Any dead legend. That is a standard. "Someone to watch over me", or "My funny Valentine", or "Save the last dance for me" or "the way you look tonight"...... get the picture???

Kurt Elling is a living singer who is definitely in the lineage of the singers who made standards what they are today...standards. I really don't know if he actually does standards, but I couldn't imagine that he doesn't. You can check Allmusic.com for his song lists.
