The first day of your cycle is the first day of your period. Never be too sy to talk to a doctor because he or she is a professional. Alternatively, you can go to a family planning clinic, which employ many female workers.

the first day of your cycle is the first day of bleeding from your period. then you count from that onwards dont take bunnybabes advice, follow that and you will totally miss your ovulation peak!!!! most women ovulate round about day 14 of the cycle, but everyone is different! (typical). if you buy an Ovulation Predictor Kit from the chemist (ClearBlue, First Response etc) they have a leaflet inside telling you when to start testing, based on the length of your cycle.

The first day of your cycle is the first day on which you have real bleeding (not just spotting).
