I am a director in one of the big multinational ad agencies. Listen, the first job is the most important decision, if you land a big name, your career will never go down. Working your way from the small to large is not easy as the big names tend to recruit from other big ones.

You are a creative person as far as I understand. You must belong to one of 2 groups:

1- Copy writing background - those who come up with the ideas of tv, radio ads and concepts
2- Art background - you work on a Mac, come up with designs for print ads, brochures, flyers etc

I will again assume you are more of a copy writer, prepare a potfolio of several storyboards. Try to use the existing clients of the agency you are going for, but first your must research the equity of the brands you are going to present creative for. Once you get that out of the way, send your resume along with a brief synposis of what you want to present & ask to meet the creative director.

PS: Go for the big names such as O&M, Leo Burnett, Grey, Saatchi etc
