I appear to have the attention span of a midge! I cannot seem to digest information by reading it. If I listen to it or watch it it sinks in much more easily. Does anyone know any genuine techniques to improve this, which would help me absorb information more efficiently?

A tip given to me once was:

1. Read the information thoroughly
2. Paraphrase and reduce to get the useful information (ie not the linking words etc)
3. Re-read
4. Leave for 24 hours then visit again for about 1 hour.
5. Revisit for 10 mins every day after that.

Have to say it works for me, although everyone has different methods.

Try recording your own voice while reading the material outloud. Then review the recording while reading the same material at a later time.

It's a bummer if you don't like the sound of your own voice though, or if giggle a lot.

Hi ! Try reading aloud to yourself in your head ... and repeating the important parts. If you can assimilate more easily when listening, this should help you... Your reading will be slower, but more efficient ;^)

Good Luck ;^)

Try reading your book upside down - the book, not you!! works for me coz you need to concentrate that much more.

You could go for the Momento method and tattoo it all over your body.
