Actually a "tent" is not a bad idea. I've lived in a yurt for six northern Great Lakes winters. Best time is winter.

Build with what is at hand and avoid expensive building materials.

In my area this means sand, rock and timber. Use sandbags to shape walls (these can be covered with adobe or stucco and look quite beautiful). After this, I put an all timber (pine poles thinned from overstocked plantations at hand) on top for a roof, attach a small greenhouse to the front from recycled class, and add a wood stove for heat and cooking. Cost? Lots of labor but less than $500 for a finished 1200 square foot cottage.

Actually if you research some woodworking issues, they have "hunters cabins", that can go up rather fast, and cheap.

They would sleep about 4-6 people and thought, they are small, they will be cozy and warm for a couple.

Small simple cabins, bed, stove and all the rest of the things, I believe they can be built in a week, with a few people, or was it a weekend??? hmmm Its probably been 15 or so years, since I have seen one of those issues, and dont recall which one it was actually in, but, if your a woodworker or know some one who is, just ask them for some back editions, or maybe even some hunters books, may have them...

Small bungalows, with running water, (If you have it available, and flush toilets too!!).

I wish you well..

buy a cheap tent. lol., depending on where you are you could always buy a used camper/trailer and just build around it or add onto it,or youy could just buy a cabin kit. about 9 or 10 years ago brocca garages used to advertise 2 car garages built on your property for 4 to 8 thousand dollars, complete with doors and windows consider that just tell them you dont want the garage doors but a solid wall .

I saw an article in Yahoo a while back about "mini-homes". I think they're more like what you're looking for. A lot of people are having them built for second homes or vacation houses. Just do a y! search for them.
