And can you tell me the scientific reason behind your answer?

Hopefully you always stay within a relatively few degrees of body temperature (98.6F). Drinks don't really tend to change that temperature unless you drink massive quantities of them (on the order of liters or gallons, depending in what country you live in), and usually that much liquid is going to make you sick.

At any rate, since your body almost always has a much much greater mass than what you drink, hot drinks will tend to cool and cold drinks will tend to warm before you notice any change in your body's temperature. You might experience a sudden rush of warmness or coldness when you drink a hot or cold substance, but your body will try to return its temperature back to normal (called homeostasis).

A cold drink will cool you down, but it will make you feel hotter since it will increase the temperature difference between you and your surroundings. A hot drink may make you feel cooler, for the opposite reason. You should drink something cold though. The last thing someone needs in the desert is a nice hot cup of hot chocolate.

Cold drink. Because it is at a low temperature. When it goes inside , it absorbs heat energy from the body and makes it cooler.

cold drink will seem more refreshing because they are obviously colder than your body temperature. however, they aren't the best for you when your body is really hot. a cold drink can shock your body just like if someone sprayed you with really cold water. another down side is that your body then needs to work harder to regulate your body temp. making you feel hotter.

your best bet is something cool or room temp.

physically it is better to drink a ROOM TEMPERATURE drink to cool down. why, you ask? because when you drink something, a lot happens, including a temperature variance in your mouth and esophagus upon drinking something. when you drink something hot, the body has to restrict blood flow to that area to maintain the constant body temprature. this causes the body to also burn off less body fat and calories to move the blood, because your BP will also increase slightly due to the constricted blood vessals. this will cause your body to sweat less.
a cold drink will do the same, sexcept the body will dialate blood vessals to get more blood to the area to increase the temprature. this causes you to again sweat less efficently because of a slightly lower blood pressure, and will not cool you down.
a room temprature drink will impact your biostasis to a much lesser degree. you will replenish much needed fluids, and your body systems will remain much more efficent.
always remember, every little thing you do affects you in many ways. although these impacts are not major to any degree, they still do happen. it dosen't matter what the temprature is of what you drink, it only matters that you are trying to stay hydrated when it is hot.

when i am cold, any cold alchoholic drink would warm me up... largely based on the alchohol I had consumed. When I am hot, a cold drink would do as well over ice. hot drinks warm you up or wake you up in most cases. Cold Drinks keep you cooler longer, as long as you are hydrating yourself.

cold drink.......because if you are hot...then drinking something cold will lower your temperature slightly. Also, if you have to hold your cold drink for a long time your hand will start to get cold and if the rest of your body is hot, it will feel good because your hand is cold......yea, whatever
