If you plan to buy laptop then it is good to have a WIFI, just buy a WLAN USB (if happen your laptop don't have built-in WIFI), install through the accompanied CD. Then if you happen to go to 'hotspots' like Robinson Galleria (EDSA), then go to McDonald (or any place inside Robinson), open your laptop then insert the USB (right click when there's something pop on your system tray), and you have Internet connection (while eating at McDonald)!

You may not know if some places are 'hotspots'. They didn't put 'hotspots' on their establishments. Just search on the internet hotspots area in the Philipppines.

Most laptop/notebook have internal modem, if you have landline, then just buy Internet card then you can surf the Internet at your home.

No landline at home? consider 3G cell phones. Checkout rates for 3G connection at Smart or Globe, they are becoming 'hot' at Internet connection.

Good luck!
