I think it is a place where countries can come and be heard with an equal voice.

That said, I think it is failing miserably and I wish they would relocate outside the USA. All they do for NY is not pay parking tickets and get away with murder, literally, because they have diplomatic immunity. Most conservatives and a good portion of our liberals do not trust them in the least.

UN in its self does not have much power but it is a platform for the world community to solve their problems mutually or with some help from other nations but it seems that the north south divide has taken the center stage and peace efforts have taken a back seat.

They're not doing anything to ease the situation in the middle east. They should stand up for human rights, which are obviously being violated by Israel. How can Israel justify their violent actions against Lebanon...destroying airports, school buses.....all for what? Terrorism is terrorism, and it should be called out when it happens, just because Israel is an allied doesn't mean that they can get away with anything.

The UN is only in existence to extort money and power. They do nothing for the world. That is why we should get out of this group and insist they get out of the U.S. They should move their headquarters to Belgium or the Netherlands or somewhere else. They are useless except for corruption.

i think if they r doing right for the world peace there will not be more than 500 dead civil in Lebanon in 7 days , stimulating people anger . and then they came and ask why there is terrorism ?

well it is supposed to do that. I am afraid it doesn't.

The super powers do what they want to do and are hardly bothered about the UN.

believe me, UN has no rule of anything, it is just a prestigious place where all get together and plan to hit each other..
