I'm surprised at how many people seem to be so gawd-damned cheery and optimistic when they first wake up. What the hell is wrong with these people or are they just faking it, high or crazy??? ;-)
I usually lull in half-awake mode for a while, think about whatever dream I've had, assess what time it is, wonder what kind-of trouble my preschool-aged daughter is getting into and what sort-of messes she's already managed to make, debate whether or not I really need to get up to pee after all and then if I'm lucky I get to go back to sleep. :)
If I've managed to go back to sleep then I often later find that she's gotten into some interesting stuff in the fridge ... sometimes she's managed to get out a block of cheese and take bites out of it or maybe she's found sweets that were supposed to be hidden or some other creative food mess that she's conjured up. Often she's also managed to make some other interesting mess in the living room and/or other parts of the house. It's always a surprise seeing what she's gotten into on the days where she's home with me (instead of at preschool) and her daddy is either at work or sleeping in with me. *heehee*
Of course if I do manage to get back to sleep I'm often woken up rudely by my daughter trying to hassle me out of bed. She has creative tactics for this which oddly enough fail to amuse me when I've been sound asleep! ;-) She once woke me up by throwing something at my head. But, most of the time it involves bouncing up and down at the bed whining at me about something that she wants me to do and having to repeat herself many times because mommy isn't exactly bright-eyed and busy-tailed in the morning. *heh*

After all of those light little dreams then I think for a micro second, then I remember I'm with my wife then my mind takes over and I cuddle. I'd do more but I spose we got to be considerate and anyways she get's grumpy if she's not in the mood.

Well, here I go again. I wake up everyday in a good mood, and I know that angers some people. I feel sorry for them.
