I'm planning a party in my back garden, going to have about 20-30 of my friends ad aquaintances there. There's going to be a buffet table, drink (alcoholic and non), music. I am looking for ideas, something really good or imaginative, that I could use at the party so the guests won't be bored or just things you think wld be good. The guests will all be about 18 yrs old. My back garden is quite small, and most people who are coming don't have a lot of money. I'm on a pretty tight budget myself so can't afford anything extravagant.

So ideas for entertainment e.g. Twister, what music to play, anything... I await your ideas!

You can buy Race Night Games [Horses] for about £15 from most department stores or high street chains e.g. M&S, Debenhams. You can have as many players as you like, you use paper money supplied with the game, so its perfect if your on a budget. You can move the TV into the garden. Enjoy the sunshine and enjoy the excitement of a day at the races without the risk and minus the unwanted crowds.

I have done it before its a great laugh and better than the real thing, beacuse you get to sit down in comfort, food and drink is free and just the people you want are there.

Good for one off occasions!

The key to any party or get together is the K.I.S.S rule, (Keep It Simple Stupid) As long as you have beer, food, and music everything should be fine. I myself host poker for friends and family all the time and we have a cookout with steaks and chicken. we laugh we play cards and listen to music, and some people get drunk and make fools of themselves witch gives use all a good laugh. You will have more fun with the people you are close to than the people that you have never interacted socially before. playing fun games like spades or a raffle drawing for some small prize are ways to have some fun. Don't over-think it sounds like a great great party. Now I'm kind of jealous I'm not invited. good luck...

At the start give everyone a bit of paper on it with 5 words... could be a funny word, could be a complicated word (if so a definition might is often useful) and throughout the night everyone has to use their words as many times as they can without someone else guessing it... if for eg, person1 guesses person2 and its a wrong guess then they drink.. if they guess and its a right guess, person2 crosses it off his/her list and then drinks! Winner is the one at the end of the night with the most number of words left!

Not sure if it will work cos I just made that up on the spot but it sounds quite good in theory!

limbo, lol

try to keep then entertained with games, etc

i've had plenty a party but not exactly for that age group, but i suggest that if you see ANYONE not haveing a good time, go up to them and get them active in the party, make them feel welcome and as one of the group.

Remember, unhappy party-goers make a lousy party.
