Way too old to be drinking from a bottle at age 2. Give him a sippy cup and tell him something like,"Now you can drink from a big boy cup!" And if he drinks from it, make sure to make it a big deal and give him lots of praise, so he will know that he just did something good-something that made mommy really happy.

Try throwing away his bottles and forcing him to quit drinking from them. It's not as if his only food comes from a bottle. Get him some of those disposable sippy cups and give it to him. He'll get thirsty enough to drink out of it. I hope that you're feeding him solids by now. My little girl stopped the bottle at 11 months, cold turkey. She never looked back.

You need to take away the bottle. All must go. Out of site out of mind. Try getting a sippy that has a soft spout this may give him the bottle feel.

If he wants it bad enough he'll eventually drink it from the sippy cup. Take away the bottles and don't give in.

Try moving to a sippy cup for his routine bottles. Then try introducing a cup of water first, then eventually milk once he gets the hang of that.

What is his feeding routine? Most kids should stop asking for a feed at night by the time they are one. I used to feed mine too, till i realized that he was crying more from habit than a need .. i substituted his milk for water (using a sipper wit a soft spout) .. he now doesnt need 2 drink at night anymore. he is 13M old.
I didnt really have a prob wit a bottle coz I was breastfeedin him till he was 11M & then moved him to a sipper/glass. As He l doesnt like to drink milk, he takes up to an hr sometimes .. but i have not caved in & given him a bottle (which i know will be faster)
I sit him on his high chair, and he drinks from his tumbler, sip after sip .. sometimes i spoon feed him .. but it works
U need to decide whether u shud just stop bottles one day or substitute a feed by feed for a sipper/tumbler .. there is no esay quick fix solution.

From personal experience I think the best way is to let him know he is a big boy now and no more bottles. I took my son outside to the trash can and threw them all away. He did want a bottle at night but in a few days he got used to not having it. My son was 18 months when I did it. My reason was because he had a sister almost two years older and she kept wanting a bottle because he had one. So the easiest thing was to throw them all away. good luck to you.

you have to ween him slowly, first stop the morning bottle, than the afternoon. then only allow 1 bottle a night until he is completly off. he will cry, it can be hard, but i promise you will both live. i have 2 children, they will be 4, and 2 this september i just went through this, two weeks ago with my youngest, and he was a bottle baby also. all babies are different and sometimes it's others that pressure us to hurry our children. if he was 4 then you could worry.
