To demand revenege for every injury is to set one's self up for the same revenge. Once this requirement was intended as a clear solution for loss. One for one. Unfortunately, the second party also feels the need for atonement. Clearly, the Old Testament injunction now has a cyclical nature. You kill my brother, I kill your brother. I have run out of brothers, so you kill my son. You don't have a son, so I kill your daughter. Ad nauseum. In part, the Saudi system of Blood Money, receiving payment for the death of a loved one, makes some sense. By accepting the payment, one is essentially declaring that the issue is over.
Forgiveness is a concept that shouldbe factored in.
