Depends on which crocodile vs which alligator, but the saltwater Crocodile is the largest (up to 7 metres long).

There have been some reported cases where the alligators have reached gargantuan sizes, but in general, crocodiles are the larger of the two.

Well, the difference between them both is alligators have a shorter jaw structure. Their long mouths are shorter than a croc's. I think alligators are also more aggressive than crocodiles, as well. But which is "bigger"? I'd guess the Nile crocodile is.
