depression usually runs in the family. chances are that your parents will understand. the only mistake you can make is NOT telling your parents. the more depressive episodes you experience, the more likely to suffer from depression in the future so it's better to get treated.

Sweetie, you have a serious problem that needs immediate attention. Whatever you have done is causing you to feel guilty and that guilt is feeding your depression. Your depression is telling you your situation is hopeless and shameful. You are going to have to trust an adult somewhere. Your parents probably will be disappointed to learn that you were more concerned about disappointing them than trusting them to help you. If your family loves you, then they want the best for you.
Take this one step at a time. Tell your parents you are feeling very depressed and you would like to see a doctor. If they are not responsive go to a free clinic in your area. Teens can be seen without their parent's consent for birth control, so I am sure you can get mental health attention too.
When you begin therapy, the therapist will not judge you or tell your parents what you tell them. Your secrets will be safe with them until you decide to tell your parents or anyone else. That is the law. They cannot tell anyone what you say unless you are a danger to yourself or someone else. Even in that case they can only notify authorities to prevent you doing harm to yourself or others. Talk to your parents if you can. If not, seek help on your own. Look up the department of mental health in the blue pages of your phone book. Get help, honey. You can do it and you'll feel better. Cutting yourself only adds to the turmoil you are already feeling. I just said a prayer for your guidance and safety. Remember God will forgive you anything you confess to Him. He loves you and you have a right to live a happy life no matter what you have done! God answers my prayers. Talk to Him the way you'd talk to anyone else. Also remember He helps those who help themselves. So do get some psychiatric help!

Honey child, you're not alone. I used to be a cutter, myself. It took me a long time to tell my mother about it so I could get some help.
She was upset at first, I wont lie, but it was only because I didn't let her know right off the bat what was going on. In the end I'm glad I told her, and I'm sure it'll be the same for you.
Calmly talk to your parents. Tell them that what you're doing isn't about suicide, that in fact, it's what keeps you alive. It's obvious you're wanting help so tell them that you're tired of relying on your cutting "crutch" to make you happy. You realize you need help and thats why you're going to them. Even if they're upset at first, they'll respect you for thinking like an adult.
I wish you the best of luck, sweetheart.

Calm down first. It wouldn't be wise to leave life when you have still a lot to live. I know it sounds like a cliché, but teenagers are more sensitive and extremist than others. Just be patient and things will change. I thought too I knew everything (and perhaps I really did), but as you grow older the way your feelings work will change and you'll see the world differently. Try to do things you enjoy (party, sex, video games, arts... etc.) and ignore the rest.

You should just calm down. Go think about the possible reasons on why you are depressed and muster all of your courage and spirit together in order to solver your problems. No matter what you should never cut yourself, you should just solve your problems with words only. If you really can't handle all the pressure of letting your family down then just talk to your parents, they will solve your problem to the best of their ability. For now, just relax and play your videogames or something.

Never give up! Get up every morning and take a fresh breath of air. Then make the best of everything that comes your way. You should always be able to talk with your parents about your feelings they are not just there to tell you what you can and can not do.

It may not sound true, but life can be good IF you CHOOSE to make it that way. I am not trying to make light of your problem, but start looking for the POSITIVE in ANY situation. It is physically impossible for the brain to have two thoughts at the same time (MAKE yourself think good thoughts) and all feelings begin w/ a thought. Think happy thoughts (as cliche as that sounds) and you will find that you will eventually have HAPPY feelings. And remember that you are not alone! Good luck to you.
