to me this would mean getting all caught up over some matter of the heart that in all reality was just as weak & flimsy as the paper it was cut out of......maybe like falling hard for the "wrong" person

there used to be some fairly good acid that was green hearts on blotting paper,about 20 years ago.
My gf and I spent a lot of time on that,having fun....
