I also think that if we do have to kill someone for death row, make sure you can prove there guilty, so at least an innoccent person dosnt have to die for something he or she didnt do. I think it should be just life in prison. It just seems so wrong to me!!

There are so many reasons against capital punishment.
IT IS ***NOT*** A DETERRENT. (Like someone's going to stop to think "Oh, I shouldn't do this. I might get caught and sent to the chair.")
States with capital punishment have very similar rates of violent crime to their neighbors without the death penalty.
The U.S. Supreme Court found that actual capital punishment practices (whose case gets a capital trial, who can afford decent lawyers, jury decisions, etc.) are discriminatory against minorities. They also decided that they didn't care.
The costs of keeping someone on death row are enormous. Obviously, reducing appeals will shorten that time and therefore reduce the overall costs. But it will increase the number of people executed and later found innocent.
Think about the cost to an individual and a family there.
We can justify it and say that one person's life is an acceptable risk for all of the murders it has prevented. Except that the death penalty doesn't actually prevent or reduce murders.
And how would you feel if a friend or member of your family was deemed an 'acceptable risk'?
It just doesn't work, it's ruinously expensive and there are plenty of proven mistakes.
But most importantly -- what does it do to us as a society? It encourages retribution and revenge and teaches us that killing is a reasonable answer to a problem. And that's exactly what we're supposed to be trying to prevent.

I do not believe in this , I think we are taking Gods place on that and judging the person to the most extreme, sure they may deserve to die ,but are we the ones for that decision? No , its like that saying does two wrongs make a right? There crimes are horrible , and they should pay for it. I just say get a island somewhere and put all criminals on it and let them fend for self. no need to buy food they can hunt ,just put them there. no problems .

I watched that movie recently. I feel like in that case(okay it was a movie not real) that guy made a good point but he really went way out of his way to do it. It did raise some interesting points but Im still for the death penalty.

Death punishment in some countries have been
abolished. I agree with you that life is very precious. However, these people have caused irreparable damage by their criminal act. Existing system of punishment do not change the outlook of criminal cases in many cases.

Boy! You need to check your grammar. It's pretty bad.
Yes, I think it's wrong because the system has broke down. Not all people found guilty are guilty. Like DNA has proved a lot of people innocence.

david gale was liberal propaganda, and you're not supposed to believe propaganda. death row is for people with overwealming evidence against them. not just a preponderance of evidence. the real crime is making them wait so long. they should die immediatelly. a rabid dog no longer serves a perpose.

Regardless of whether the person is guilty or not killing someone who kills is only perpetuating the cycle of violence, and that is wrong.
