I have tried vinegar, baking soda, oxiclean, cascade, amonia and repeated washings. The only clothes that do not stink are the whites that I bleach. I also tried color safe bleach for the rest of the clothing with no results. The only thing that has remotely worked so far was oxiclean, but it didn;t work completely. There are 6 of us in this house and the washer is only 3 months old. I cannot afford all new clothes. The towels are not even useable anymore. The repair man was able to tell me how to get it out of the washer, but not the clothing stateing they never heard of anything like it before. I know better than that, but don't know what else to do. Please help me!!!!!

My washer no longer smells and it is a brand new washer that costed over $1500. It is not junk and I do not leave clothes in them. This has been a noted problem with front loaders. This is not my fault. My question is is how can I get the odor out of my clothes now. Throwing them away is not an option. We are lucky to keep up with expenses as it is as we are a combined family of 6.

The washing machine cannot give your clothes an odor. Either there is something in your water or you left your clothes in the washing machine too long and they mildewed. In that case, there is nothing to be done with them but throw them away as you will not get it out. Have someone come check out your water from your water company. If there is nothing wrong there, u need to get them out of the washing machine sooner. The only time clothing has an odor is when it is wet. When it dries, there should not be an odor. If there is, trash the clothes as there is nothing that can help clothes that stink when they are dry.

The machine is either a piece-o-crap or a really old machine. Buck up and save for awhile and get a nice pimped out one that has lots of features to make your clothes last longer and save money.

bleach will kill mold. run a cycle w/lots of bleach and plain water thru. and let it set for awhile. do it periodically. i think it is caused by leaving a load of wet clothes in the washer too long before drying.
