I have been asking questions on here with no interest in the answers. I am interested in the reasons why the people answered. I deal with 100s of people each week in person. I find that they are all basically good people. I have been asking religious questions but I'm not religious. I just find that religious people are generally close minded. I am asking the questions to force close minded people to think. My logic is that if I ask a question those who are curious will be intrigued welcome the mental stimulation and that the close minded will flame me and fume over the answer there by giving it more consideration out of irritation that they would in an even tempered debate. Is this a waste of time even though I enjoy it?

Absolutely not! To change even one narrow-minded ignorant **** even a little bit can only increase the standard of living for everyone.

I applaud your efforts.

I shall endeavor to do the same.

You are an inspiration.

Not at all, psychologists do this all the time. Sometimes they don't ask questions for what they say, but how the person answers it. Then with slight manipulation change the circumstances and see how the subject changes too. You are simply more interested in the human response than their individual opinions. Life is all about social experimentation. And I never think asking thought provoking questions is a waste of time. Close-minded people are extraordinarily stubborn and frustrating, but ask them anyway. The deeper you prod, the more likely you may be to find a door and open it.
