Or should I sit at home in front of a fan eating ice lollies?

What "sickie" excuse could I use that would be believable?

Thanks guys (esp. those who told me to stay home - workers unite!!) however I have decided to go to work and eat ice lollies there all day. This is because I've heard it's going to be even hotter tomorrow - so I'll pull my sickie tomorrow instead!

Get to work, you shirker!

By skipping work, you increase the workload for all of your colleagues. Imagine if you went in one day and 2 others decided to 'pull a sickie'.

However, an excuse that could be belivable would be the emergency plumber one. Pipes broke, cat soaked, plumber took ages, etc

Nah stay home. It's probably too damn hot anyway. Make sure you soak your clothes in ice water before you wear them and just call your boss and tell him that your car overheated and you have no way of getting to work, because the transit lines are done where you live and all of the neighbors are on vacation, plus the cab company ain't operating because the air conditioning blew in all the cabs and at the office.

You could sit at home but I bet you are a more honest person than that. You might say or do something that will make a difference in someones day. Its easier to live with Joy and a little extra money than it is with guilt and an emptier pocket book. Bless you sweet lady I know you will make the right choice.

um...you became dehydrated from the heat and had to rehydrate with ice lollies....yummy. A little heat exhaustion is good for a sickie day!

Do you have time left? If you do, screw it. Sit home and have some cold daiquiris! If you have kids, say he-shes sick. or say you cant find your keys. Youve been looking everywhere. Or car trouble. Or you have a flat and your waiting for your hubby/boyfriend to come and fix it. But he doesnt get off until (an hour before your shift is over) OR YOURE SICK!

You probably should, at least if your work has AC.

An excuse could be that you got heat exhaustion from working in the garden or running.

Stay home. Use an FMLA excuse. Work sucks, home is better. Watch the food network in your underwear.

A bad Migraine is always a good one.
No-one can prove if your head is sore or not.

An upset stomach is another good one. You can't work if you are in the loo all day, can you?

Why not say Heatstroke?
