In 3 days, it will be 3 weeks. I

t is still quite sore and quite swollen, though not really bruised. It does hurt.

My husband said if I can move it, it isn't broken. My mother said it may just be an extension of my fibromyalgia.

The secretary at the podiatrist's office said just elevate it, ice it and tape it together with another toe. She told me how much it would cost to have the dr look at it next week. (Which we don't have the money for...) She said it would cost more to go to the emergency room.

It hurts through-out the day and is usually difficult to walk on. I would like to take a pin and pop it to let all the swelling out and ease the pain. The lady said x-rays run about $75. and the visit around $150. Ouch...again!

I've read really good answers, and feel dumb for not getting it checked out. Money is the only issue. (I have a supplement and Medicare.) Yet here I sit with this stupid (almost self-induced) pain.

Without an xray, there is no way to know the true status of your toe. However, if you fell on it two weeks ago and it is still swollen, sore and bruised, there is a high chance that you did break it.

Please feel free to email me for any further info or questions.

Well, I have to say, I've done this lotsa times, and you should not go to a doctor. Even if they think it's broken, they're not gonna take x-rays and you won't get a cast for a toe. All they would do is tape it to the toe next to it so that it heals straight. I would suggest you do this at home yourself and save yourself the aggrivation of the doctor's office. After a couple days, take off the bandage, and if it doesn't seem any better, just tape it again.

Are you denied medical attention, so you do not know, or you simply have not walked to doctor because you do not think about it.
If you have no posibility to go and ask medical attention I am sory, but if you can then this is very very stupid move, what if there is some complication in the blood flow of your toe, you could easily come to situation of gangrena developement, and there goes at list your toe, and probably a litle more.
So do not wait and go to the doctor.

that may become a problem in future so please don't ignore the pain and simply get an x-ray done before anything else
